hollowcollarbones: Winchester Mystery House. The residence of Sarah Winchester (as in Winchester guns). According to popular belief, Sarah was told by a medium that she must continuously build up her hope in order to keep the spirits of those killed by Winchester guns from causing her harm. The mansion is filled with doors that lead to nowhere, stairs that hit the ceiling and windows that look into other rooms of the house. This was to confuse the spirits and keep them from settling into the house. Construction was continued up until she died in 1922. Personally I’m more scared of the house than the ghosts inside it. If you were being attacked or the house was on fire you’d more than likely end up cornerned, unless you knew the place like the back of your hand.
